First donation made to reproductive justice organizations

First donation made to reproductive justice organizations

Back in July, we announced that we would donate 20% of all sales to reproductive justice organizations -- this week we made the first donations. We donated $40 to Spark Reproductive Justice Now and $40 to National Network of Abortion Funds. We are a small business but we know that every little bit helps.

Spark defines "Reproductive Justice as a social justice movement rooted in the belief that individuals and communities should have the resources and power to make sustainable and liberatory decisions about their bodies, genders, sexualities, and lives.

Reproductive Justice is pro-sex, sexuality, gender, queer bodies, access to abortion and contraception, birth rights and chosen families, and so much more!"

Anti-choice legislation is incredibly detrimental to all people with a uterus (women, non-binary folks, trans-men, etc.), especially if they are a Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color. Read more about the Reproductive Justice movement here.

I know first-hand the impact of bodily autonomy and choice. I hate knowing that so many people are and will be denied that choice and could die because of it.

Sound Ceramics will continue to donate 20% of all sales from now until December 31, 2022 to reproductive justice organizations. During this holiday season, please consider supporting small businesses (be it Sound Ceramics or other small businesses) that invests in supporting others in your community or around the world or donate to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color led organizations and/or mutual aid. There are so many people in need right now.

If you are unable to donate at this time, please share this post, donate your time if you're able, spread the word of another organization near and dear to your heart.

Thank you so much for your support.
